Pros

Pay and benefits are very competitive. Training is exceptional, with classes for every skill level, and rewards and recognition are practiced regularly. You won't feel forgotten or overlooked for your hard work.

Cons

No cons really, but I think we can do better on paid maternity/paternity leave time, which can set an example of even higher standards, and approving longer vacations.

Hello, and thank you for the compliment of your five star review! We love that you have highlighted our commitment to one of our core values as a company, Diversity and Inclusion. We are also thrilled to hear your rave review of our training programs — our OTD department is truly outstanding! Regarding benefits, we encourage you to chat with a member of your local HR department about our New Parent Leave policy, which was enhanced last year to give more paid time off to all new parents, whether you are the primary or secondary caregiver. We also want you to be able to take the vacation time you earn; keep working with your direct supervisors on those requests — the more advance notice you can give, the better! Thank you again for all you do and we look forward to seeing your career continue to grow.

Pros

Great rent discount. Competitive pay for people who go the extra mile. I've gotten a raise every single year but I've also stepped my game up every year and demonstrated my added value. Awesome people! I've made life long friends and really have a support network of people that I can count on. Incredible training. I feel like I'm getting paid to go to school. Equity is the best job I've ever had and will be one of the biggest reasons for my future success.

Cons

It's not easy. If you're looking for an easy job, this isn't it. Dealing with people at properties is tough work and you have to pay your dues if you want to move up. We've all been there, and it will build character. A lot of people complain about work life balance. TBH I've been in my current role for 8 months and usually work closer to 6 days a week, but that's because I care about my building and enjoy the fruits of my labor. I'm not required to work that hard and in fact I was encouraged in my yearly review to take it easy and relax!

Thank you so much for taking the time to share this articulate, honest, and accurate view of what it takes to be successful here at Equity. We are so proud of what we offer as a company, but you have hit the nail on the head by saying that this isn’t for everyone. One thing that motivates us as a collective group is knowing that we are surrounded by go-getters, extra-mile-goers, and overachievers. If that’s you — you’re going to love it here! If not, then that will be a different story. With that being said, we do want everyone to achieve a healthy and productive work/life balance; thank you for the reminder that it can be easier said than done! We will commit to continuing to evaluate technology, business practices, and staffing models to allow you more time away from work. In return, we ask you to believe your supervisor when they tell you to take some time off and relax — you earn it each and every day! Thank you again for your hard work and for setting an example for so many. Cheers to you!

Pros

Consistent opportunities for growth and development, and a place where hard work is recognized. The ability to push back and have differing opinions, and working collaboratively are part of the culture.

Cons

I have nothing negative to add here.
