Pros

- You get to work with some of the best talent in the industry. - There's usually a lot of upward movement available for property operations. - The employees are smart and good at what they do, but they also don't take themselves too seriously. They know how to laugh and be personable. - They care about work/life balance. - Upper management takes employee feedback seriously. - Decent rental discount if you live at one of the communities.

Cons

- New ideas are sometimes hard to test or get off the ground due to the size of the company and how many people/ depts need to be involved in any one initiative. - There's a little bit of office politics that comes into play, as with any corporate environment. - A lot of the strategy and decision-making happens in the Chicago headquarters, so some in the field find it hard to be empowered and take ownership in their roles. - Health insurance coverage isn't great. You end up paying a good amount out-of-pocket.

We truly appreciate the time you took to share such meaningful feedback. It is beneficial to hear your perspective, and we couldn’t agree more with all of the great things you shared as “pros” - particularly about our amazing employees and caring leaders - but your words of advice ring true as well. We want to ensure that all of our team members feel equally engaged, empowered, and developed, and from the thoughtful and balanced way you articulated your views, we imagine you have some great ideas for us. Please know we’d love to hear more of your ideas and suggestions, and we encourage you to reach out to a member of our HR, OTD, or Employee Communications department to continue the dialogue. Thank you for your 8 years of service, and here’s to many more!

Hello, and thank you so much for your great review! It is always a difficult decision to sell a community, a portfolio, or to exit a market altogether, and we are sorry that our time together ended when we transitioned out of Arizona. We are glad you remember your experience with us fondly; we wish you all the best, and hope our paths will cross again one day!
