There is always opportunity for growth and moving up the ladder within the company. My work like balance is great. And management is hands on.

Cons

Leasing getting pretty slow in the colder months, but this is where packages pick up during the year.

Pros

Fair compensation, great commission structure, good leadership, lots of room for growth, excellent benefits, good training programs. Seems like there is always something being offered to employees that go above and beyond. Lots of recognition for achievements. Equity has a culture that actually makes me want to get up and go to work.

Cons

Inconsistent management practices between different properties; sometimes lazy people get away with a lot. Use of national vendors and not much attention to local vendors who could offer better services at a cheaper price. National vendors know we have deep pockets and cut so many corners that it winds up being more expensive despite the national contract.

We would definitely recommend that you speak with the leadership in your region about specific areas that you see for improvement, especially related to vendors. I've been with this company for ten years and have had the opportunity to work with the best this industry has to offer. I am proud in the fact that we hire talented individuals, and have a strong training and development department to make them a commodity in this market. We unfortunately lose a lot of these jems that lots of resources are devoted to.

Cons

There is a perception of a disconnect between the corporate team and the front lines of the onsite teams. Metric based expectations are unrealistic when the goal of the team on the property is to honestly make it through the day without resident confrontation while adapting to limited budgets and staff reductions. I have honest, hard working, and devoted team members who often feel there is no winning in their role. They honestly care but do not feel rewarded for their efforts due to the lack of dedication from the management from above.
