More dictatorship. They pay you to do and not to think.

Pros

Great communities and great peers. Lots of growth in DC metro area. Great leadership conferences for CM and above. Cutting edge technology.

Cons

Upper management is out of touch. Local leadership did not have your back and could not be trusted. Your performance is judged by over 45 metrics. Some manipulation was used to make numbers look better. Short sighted decisions were made to hit earnings. Fooling leadership in Chicago and didn't feel good. Local support sucked.

Pros

The CEO is great. The employees are awesome. Everyone is willing to terach you anything you dont know.

Cons

In order for you to make money, you have to move to other properties that are more stressful than the one you are at. You MUST WORK WEEKENDS!!! Say goodbye to your social life at that point.

We appreciate you taking time to review your experience. We're happy to hear that you enjoy the people you work with and our world-class training. Working weekends is part of working in property management, the nature of our business requires that we are open on weekends in order to provide the best availability and service to our current and potential residents. As for the compensation, we are competitive within our industry- a leader, in fact, when it comes to not only the salary we pay, but also the added benefits, including apartment rent discounts and total well-being programs. We encourage you to speak with your manager regarding your compensation if you have any questions.

Pros

Equity is a fun company work for. For those who don't know much about Sales, Customer service, Equity Residential has an awesome training program.

Cons

No matter how great you are, no matter your sales expertise or your customer service expertise, Equity Residential will still hire someone less knowledgeable, immature, and less experienced for a Manager position.
