Pros

Big Company with good benefits

Cons

Upper management needs to get more involved with the employees, learn their trade to see how most of them are being under paid, many employees come to this company and they get disappointed soon and leave, one reason is the very low wages, they try to keep you in the middle of the wage scale even though you stand out, not many employees are towards the top of the pay scale, that's how they save money.

Pros

Great bonus program, great benefits, ability to influence how much you'd pay for Health insurance by participating in 3rd party program "Vitality".

Cons

Miser raises once a year. If you want bigger raise - get promoted a step up. Not many promotions are available though. Hourly pay is not compatible with competitors. Corporate has a huge disconnect with field employees but ask a world from them. Company took away power to make decisions from local management, now everything has to be approved by RMs or RFMs. Lots of things changed since the time I started with Equity. Micromanagement is the hardest thing to get adjusted to. They ask us to put all this info into all these forms/fields/tickets, etc. saying that they just made our life easier however they do not consider that it takes a lot of time for us field folks to track all info and we have been constantly nagged about time management. Properties are understaffed, overtime is frowned upon and god fobid you are over by 2 minutes, you have to write an explanation...

Hello, We want to start by recognizing that the recently announced sale of several properties has been an emotional experience for us all. Although, as noted, the sale will include all of our Denver properties, our employees were not "sold." Great care has been taken to ensure that our employees will be offered employment with the new management company. We always credit our management and community teams for making our customers lifelong and loyal. Regarding your comments about having actions be approved by senior leaders, accountability for financial actions on the properties have been put in place to ensure consistent practices across our entire portfolio. Your feedback is appreciated and we encourage you to share this with your local leadership group. We wish you well and nothing but the best as we transition ownership of these communities.

Pros

I've been with this company for ten years and have had the opportunity to work with the best this industry has to offer. I am proud in the fact that we hire talented individuals, and have a strong training and development department to make them a commodity in this market. We unfortunately lose a lot of these jems that lots of resources are devoted to.

Cons

There is a perception of a disconnect between the corporate team and the front lines of the onsite teams. Metric based expectations are unrealistic when the goal of the team on the property is to honestly make it through the day without resident confrontation while adapting to limited budgets and staff reductions. I have honest, hard working, and devoted team members who often feel there is no winning in their role. They honestly care but do not feel rewarded for their efforts due to the lack of dedication from the management from above.

First off, we would like to say thank you for taking the time to give us your honest feedback. We are happy to hear that overall you had a positive experience working with Equity. We do understand that our expectations are set high- we want the best and strive for excellence. At times, this can be seen as unrealistic and we hope that our employees feel comfortable speaking with their leadership teams when unforeseen hurtles arise. We do understand that your job is challenging and appreciate what our on-site teams do every day that puts Equity at the top of our class in the industry. Thank you.
