Pros

Excellent health benefits for US-based employees, since it is a European-based company. They even considered paying the Obama-Care "Cadillac" tax to keep the extremely good health benefits. Ericsson eventually opted to change/scale back some of the benefits to avoid the higher taxes, but the benefits are still rather good. Profitable company.

Cons

North America has semi-annual layoffs. There is no formalized training to perform your job. You are left to figure things out on your own, based on documentation. It is rare to be assigned to a project where other experienced employees can coach you.

Pros

it's good to work for Ericsson in cheaper countries, such as India, Hungary, China...

Cons

do not work for Ericsson in the US, because they tend to move all US jobs to cheaper countries, and then they will eliminate your jobs. This has exactly happened to us, the old Redback. They forced us to train people in cheaper countries, then sent our jobs to those places, and then...laid of all of us
