Great Company - The Future is Bright

Pros

Security and opportunity. If you work hard, perform and achieve results, the sky is the limit. In 90 years, the organization has never laid off an employee. It's a very employee-focused organization. Employee turnover is practically non-existent. Opportunities abound in all areas. The organization is extremely financially sound. Great working conditions and benefits.

Cons

The weather in Erie is the weather in Erie. Like all organizations, sometimes corporate politics can exist. Overall, it's a unique organization in that many local employees likely haven't ever worked anyplace else. As such, they really don't know how good they have it.

Pros

Good benefits. Weekends off. Unfortunately I'm out of Pros because this place truly doesn't have any others. More words to meet the 20 word minimum.

Cons

The organization lacks a clear and concise vision of where it wants to go. Objectives change constantly. The IT outfit wastes money by purchasing almost every product on the market. Seriously, I switched my insurance provider to USAA because of how poorly run "The ERIE" is. Politics and bureaucracy are large parts of finding success here. Lastly, don't try challenging the status quo. That type of behavior isn't well received.

Pros

Insures large segment of the population. Has a fairly good retention in the market. Low prices and good multi-policy discounts

Cons

Unrealistic expectations as far loss control and production. Poor training, high turn over, poor claims handling, difficult management. Commissions get drastically reduced if goals aren't met.
