Pros

Great benefits, pay is ok, great onboarding process. Some of the vets are awesome.

Cons

Management constantly changing your shifts, not having the necessary tools and or training to do your job, supervisors have no previous animal or veterinary training, supervisors very often to not take calls that are escalated to them, veterinarians refuse to help with a dire circumstance phone call, some of veterinarians and technicians are unbelievably rude to you. TOO MUCH DRAMA! There is no 2019 401k contribution, the list can go on.

Pros

loved some of the people I worked with and clients I met along the way. pet benefits are good.

Cons

management does not care, and human resource department is terrible. they dont care about you, but will act like they do. if you go to them for anything they will turn it around and make you out to be the bad one. there is no growth even if you have been employed for years. they do not care about you, only care about them growing as a corporate company. pay is NOTHING

Pros

Very structured but not in a stuffy, traditional corporation sort of way. Good benefits. Generous CE allowance. Very supportive of internal promotions and helping people further their education. Overall very professional. Leaves no room for showing favoritism. Really cares about employees needs (work/life balance, burn out, compassion fatigue). Really make you feel like your part of a big family and make sure you know everyone in the organization and not feel so disconnected due to the size of the company.

Cons

Sticks to their rules no matter what. This can definitely be a positive to avoid favoritism and keep consistency but at the same time you don't get the personal exemptions from certain rules on a case to case basis that you might benefit from in a private practice (ie getting away with taking last minute PTO or picking up extra shifts to avoid having to take PTO)
