Thank you for sharing this feedback. It’s encouraging to hear that the efforts we’ve put toward competitive benefits and perks, a flexible work environment, and our office spaces contributed positively to your time with Etsy. Your feedback around work-life balance and investment in management is also important to us. We’ve found that with our recent rapid growth, we needed to scale our employee base to maintain momentum. We’re focused, however, on creating more balance and better access to resources to help set our teams and managers up for long-term success. By striking the right balance of requesting feedback at scale, combined with providing our leaders more capacity and resources to support their reports, we are optimistic that this will address the concerns you’ve mentioned here.

Pros

Plenty of career growth opportunities here and ability to have a huge impact. You don't usually get this with as large of a company (or as much technical scale) as we have: it's a pretty special place from that regard. The culture is also great. We have progressive benefits (half a year of parental leave!), yummy snacks, and engaged leadership that really knows what's going on in individual teams and is excited to speak to individuals on those teams.

Cons

Things move quick here. The people who are most successful tend to be comfortable working through ambiguity.

Pros

Etsy is a top leader in benefits, a warm and caring culture. Very focused on D&I, a vibrant and inclusive community. The mission is great and employees are passionate about the cause. Very intelligent colleagues with an incredible amount of best practice to learn from.

Cons

Decision-making is pretty centralized at the exec team level, with more of a "command and control" approach to strategy and decision-making.
