Pros

Etsy has been a literal dream! I started out as a contractor and they sent me a bouquet of gorgeous flowers to start and I didn’t feel like a contractor, and in general contractors are treated like the FTE’s. Etsy aligns with my values of not being mircomanaged, health being of utmost importance, and living a balanced life. For the first time I feel valued truly and like my team and manager want me to grow. I’m honestly surprised that the world isn’t as aware of how great Etsy is a company to work for, but I’m glad I’m able to find that out for myself!

Cons

I would’ve liked a higher salary, but the benefits and company culture and possibility for promotion and raises make it worth it. I can see myself continuing to grow as a person and professional with this company.

Pros

- I'm proud of the work I do. I believe that what I develop truly helps people, and that's rewarding. - I'm provided the leeway and confidence to try new things which keeps my job interesting and challenging. - I have consistent support from teammates across the company which helps to ensure my outputs represent cross-departmental goals and beliefs. - I have access to management and trusting relationships with folks numerous "levels" above me. - Although I'm very, very busy, I still have more work-life balance than I've ever experienced before. Even if I'm feeling overwhelmed, I have the confidence that I can comfortably log off work at a reasonable time without judgement from others.

Cons

- Projects often require input from too many people. This can result in deadlines being pushed back too many times, or even the final product becoming diluted as a result of trying to incorporate everyone's preferences. - Niche roles and new markets sometimes don't receive the support needed to operate efficiently, resulting in numerous folks taking on time-consuming projects outside their responsibilities, adding to stress and workload but also slowing down progress on key goals that are their true role responsibilities.

Pros

Career Growth Opportunities but very politically correct

Cons

Getting to be a top tech company but compensation is lower than others. The stock price increase is why things have been comparable

Thank you for your feedback. We’re very glad that you have experienced career growth while with Etsy and that you’re excited – as we are – about our continued technological growth. In respect to your concerns around compensation, our People teams keep a close eye on how our compensation bands compare to industry standards, and we adjust accordingly to ensure our employees are paid at or above market while being sure to maintain internal equity. Stock-based awards serve as an important component of our overall compensation package at Etsy, and this has allowed employees to reap the benefits of our stock price growth in recent years.
