Pros

Benefits are good and pay is decent for the area.

Cons

Always have to CYA. There are many fake people in the Winston-Salem client location. Extremely homophobic environment and managers are not helpful. Not respected for your contributions unless you are a favorite of management and if you are favored, you basically don’t have to work yet get to collect a substantial pay check. Rude coworkers and rude management. I’m disappointed I took this job. Unable to talk to managers if you have grievances. No HR on-site. Horrible corporate culture here in Winston-Salem.

Pros

This is one of the few companies hiring people without industry experience. Opportunity to gain experience and learn new skills in a GMP environment. Flexible work hours with decent benefits. Co-workers in general are friendly and hard working. Overall this company has the potential to be a great work environment, but.....

Cons

There is a reason why they continuously hire new employees with little experience...embarrassingly low wages (or salaries) with little or no opportunity for wage increases. This has lead to the highest turnover rate I've ever witnessed outside of delivery companies like UPS or Fedex. This constant loss of "experienced" workers (If you have more than a year and half of experience, you are a veteran) and influx of new workers has caused a dramatic decrease in productivity in my department with safety and morale issues as well. Often times an experienced co-worker will train several new hires that will quit within a few weeks or months. Seeing that the company is willing to waste thousands of dollars on new hires meant to replace you, but not willing to advance the salary of an experienced employee being paid 50% less than their counterparts in other companies has lead to a general dislike and disregard for managers. As advised by many others, work here for a few months to gain experience, then leave for a far better paying job elsewhere. Do not support the low wage model that management has adopted by staying any longer than necessary.

Pros

-Co-workers generally were nice and helpful if they had the time -Relatively flexible schedules as long as you are not too late to start -No strict deadlines, with the exceptions of rush jobs or investigatory work. Most testing assigned to analysts is not due back to the client for several weeks so there isn't a rush -Can manage a decent work/life balance most of the time

Cons

This pertains primarily to department 09, though departments 10 and 12 are nearly as bad -In lab training is non-existent, you shadow someone (who may themselves have only been there several months and not great sources of information through no fault of their own) for a week and then you're on your own -Most group leaders are too busy to be bothered with any questions regarding any tests you may be doing, and even worse some group leaders don't even know the specifics of what their group tests. -Turnover in analysts and group leaders makes for chaos and unreasonable expectations placed on those who stick around -Inconsistent promotion system: highly preferential treatment is placed on some not so great workers while some hard workers waste away as associates -Pay is not equal to the work expected of analysts at any level -Abuse of the fact that they are based in 'at will' employment state. It's bad enough that turnover is high due to employees leaving for better opportunities but on top of that management on several occasions enacted on the spot terminations, no warnings or probationary period. Their termination letters are highly inflammatory and derogatory
