Pros

Always something to learn no matter where you work. Some additional skills to add to the resume. You'll know what it's like to work in a poorly functioning environment here and know what to look out for next time.

Cons

It's going to sound repetitive after reading the other reviews but the poor management and decision making by the CEO and Sales Manager have cost many people their jobs. It once was a well functioning company with steady growth. Expected to work long hours with no compensation for overtime and weekends (exempt) on a meager salary. It doesn't add up. Very understaffed lab and overstaffed management. It is a noisy and dirty lab that gets a "quick cleaning" when an audit is about to happen. Rapid and constant turnover in personnel.

Pros

- decent healthcare - good amount of downtime -great coworkers -very clean and organized lab Make sure to ask if you will be in an imbedded position. Those are the ones you want.

Cons

Eurofins commonly hires young grads who don’t know their worth. It used to be very relaxed, which was nice for the low pay, but it became very micromanagey quickly. Group leaders are either great or terrible, and upper management will defend them, even when they’re in the wrong. Aggravating decisions are constantly scapegoated to the client or parent company (btw, other contractors and the client company aren’t nearly as stingy with rules). They suppress contact with the client company so you can’t make meaningful connections and leave the company. It is impossible to get career development advice if you are not planning on staying with Eurofins. Your desire to learn is how Eurofins takes advantage of you, making you learn too many assays or complicated assays too quickly, which makes new hires feel stressed. Onboarding is very disorganized and boring. They will keep squeezing you for all you’re worth without reasonable compensation. They want top-notch service with bottom of the barrel pay. Get in and get out. - luck of the draw positions - luck of the draw group leads - red tape everywhere - hard to learn science of the pharmaceutical products (makes it hard to leave) - work from home is policed harshly - favoritism for more senior groups - bad labor division and training - inconsistent recognition - bad long term career opportunities -not competitive compared to other contractors at this site (promise that you can find better) -unwilling to negotiate pay -unlikely to get hired on to client from this company

Pros

Coworkers are the only saving grace.

Cons

A few years ago I would have said this was a good place to gain experience fresh out of college, but I can no longer recommend it. Advancement opportunities are hard to come by unless you are in the supervisor's and manager's inner circles. Training is extremely rushed, you will be assigned to benches by yourself before you are comfortable or even fully trained in some cases. The executive team has absolutely gutted staffing, only to then have the nerve to be upset when samples are not being processed as quickly as when there were ten other people on staff. They are somewhat aware that it is a staffing issue because they then turn around and demand mandatory overtime. The raises are pitiful, they actually lowered the percentage you can possibly get from 5% to 4% this year. One write-up is enough for them to fire you, be you an employee or a supervisor. HR will straight up lie to you about policy changes. The executive team often ignores or even encourages unsafe laboratory practices and will not hesitate to throw you under the bus when they get caught by auditors. It is no wonder that Eurofins' reputation in the donor testing circles has been declining ever since the current executive team took charge. They claim they want to keep employees and earn the "great place to work" nomination, but they have done absolutely nothing towards either of those goals. Instead, they actively encourage their top performers to quit or fire them for not upholding the echo chamber the executives have placed themselves in. They also have a habit of not paying out non-discretionary bonuses, and employees have had to contact the state to get them to pay. You are better off skipping them and trying for a hospital or state lab. Better benefits, better experience and better connections. Steer clear of Eurofins.
