Pros

Chill, easy job, perk of getting into museums free (if they ever give you an ID badge), and company at least pretends to care about the environment

Cons

Minimum wage, no hours because managers play favorites and hire friends, disorganized management, no contact with Event Network higher-ups but when they do come inspect the store they ignore and/or are rude to the employees

Pros

Not much to comment on. For an 8 hour shift you sometimes get 2 paid 15 min breaks and a nonpaid 30 min lunch. Which is nice but also usually required by law so...

Cons

horrible upper and lower management, demeaning, condescending, no room for growth or promoting in company, you're simply disposable to them. Product is crap and cheap, yet they sell it for 200% cost value. Favoritism is at its highest here. Claim that "guest service" and "museum message" is the most important, don't be fooled, money is the most important. I had worked at this Museum store for 3+ years before Event Network came in and took over. I wasn't treated like an employee that knew the store or the museum, I was treated like a 15 year old at their first job ever. They want employees to treat this like a department store instead of what it is, a tourist destination. Up your sales with "Purchase with Purchase" most parents just want to get out quickly and avoid spending more money. You're losing sight of what your customer wants and is asking for. Vising a gift shop is about experience for them, that's it. Demeaning, condescending, rude, you name it they were it. Honestly one of the worst jobs I've ever had. I loved working here in this store before this company came in and took over.
