Leadership is poor

Pros

Full-time remote, immediate marketing team is nice and a pleasure to work with.

Cons

Leadership is disorganized, indecisive, with no clear delegation which screws over executing teams and leaves a lack of unity and breeds distrust. So much fragmentation and inefficiency to get the simplest of tasks done. Unrealistic expectations with no support even when you advocate for yourself, which led to my team becoming a revolving door of marketers. Many things don't have a process, which EC will spin into you being able to grow, create, and standardize your own for the division. The reality is the process changes nearly every project due to competing interests and the current whim of leadership. Performance suffers due to an output over outcomes mentality. Many people, including myself, were burned out in a matter of months. You hope you work at a company that's supportive of and takes an active role in helping you get your work done as efficiently and as easily as possible, but the opposite proves to be true here.

Pros

Strong investment in the personal and professional growth of their employees, flexible work hours, fast-paced environment, opportunity to change career paths, openness for feedback and ideas, strong involvement in the community, forward-thinking in how an employee can take control of their day, gym reimbursement, collaborative environment

Cons

This fast-paced environment could be overwhelming to some, but others thrive in it. Somewhat of an independent environment in some departments which may not work for all.

Pros

I got some good resume-building experience which helped me to find a much better employer.

Cons

1. There is no work-life balance. At all. I was often guilted into working 10-hour days and occasional weekends to help the team meet the unrealistic revenue goals set by the company. If those goals weren't met every month, it just meant we had to work even longer days the following month to make up for it. 2. Despite growing the business(es) YoY in the midst of a pandemic, my hard work and long hours were not rewarded during performance reviews. I was told, "Covid year is not the time to look for an increase." 3. The work I had put in behind the scenes was often accredited to my boss. 4. I was looking for advancement (this was made clear during my initial interviews), but was regularly told, "let's see how much you can achieve in the next 6 months, and then we can discuss." The goal posts for "success" were consistently moved every 6 months... 5. I was severely under-compensated for the role(s) I was filling. It always felt like they wanted more and more without ever giving anything back. 6. Most of the people in the Marketing departments are treated as disposable objects, and on more than one occasion I was told that I should be grateful I didn't lose my job when the pandemic hit.
