Pros

Everest in general is very flexible with their schedules and many people leave by four just to give an idea. They also have a solid benefits plan.

Cons

Several departments within the technology group actively avoid industry standards and common work flow management strategies operating as if Everest is still the small company it was. As a result, innovation is stifled and critical bad habits are encouraged throughout many Technology departments. These bad habits are only addressed, if ever, when they blow up and the damage is already done. In the past two months alone, there have already been several untested and uncommunicated deployments throughout the company which caused significant reduction in productivity for critical departments.

Pros

Work/Life balance isn’t bad. Unless something comes up you pretty much leave on time. The company for the most part is stable and growing.

Cons

Not a lot of flexibility or WFH depending on your manager. Calling out sick is frowned upon. Company still holds on to a lot of old fashioned values that don’t really entice younger employees to stick around very long. Management can be condescending toward lower level staff which makes getting promoted difficult if you don’t know what you’re doing wrong all the time. 401k is around 3% so nothing to brag about. Unless you’re an actuary or an underwriter it might best to look else where after a few years.
