Pros

I love working here. Peers are fantastic Benefits include unlimited time off, a very well stocked break room, great health insurance, and unlimited room for growth if you have the drive.

Cons

Recent changes with HR and director level management, have changed the culture of the company drastically, and for the worse. I no longer feel, like I work for the company I started at at ~3 years ago. The work environment has changed from a collaborative and inclusive model, into a dictatorship. Decisions are now being mandated and being hidden from the employees. This is the exact opposite of how things used to work. When I started I could talk to anyone in the company, without fear of judgement or retaliation. Today, I do not dare voice my concerns. This stems from fear that the feedback will somehow reach upper management and I will end up in the doghouse for a difference of opinion.

While the feedback is disappointing and disheartening to read, it has sparked some long overdue discussions within the support organization about how people feel about their jobs, career prospects and what defines Pure culture. While we have grown rapidly, it is no excuse for people to feel a massive cultural shift, although admittedly the culture continues to evolve and is being enhanced as more people join the team with different experiences. I am hoping you were part of one of the many discovery and feedback sessions we held in Utah to help clarify why some of the recent changes were necessary. While I cannot go into the specifics in a public forum, we did attempt to explain some of the decisions made and also took feedback onboard as to where we can improve. Most of the team we talked to still feel Pure is the best place they have ever worked at, and while some agreed with the sentiments expressed below, most of the team felt the opposite. We were recently awarded one of Utah’s Best Places to work, based on anonymous feedback from the team, but we will be working with an external partner to conduct another anonymous survey for employees to give us more detailed feedback to help us continually improve.

Pros

Pure's culture is refreshing and easy to embrace. transparent, friendly, peers/managers willing to acknowledge their mistakes, collaborative teams and humble.

Cons

Not all parts of the company and not all managers practice the culture. You need to watch your back more than you would expect. Execs are great, just not middle management.

Pros

Great hype, fast moving product, typical Silicon valley office perks/fun. Lots of cheerleader types tying to keep up the passion.

Cons

Company changed where they stated their values to be and type of environment of company they were trying to build. Became more of a grudge match against one competitor vs. "doing the right thing" which was original core value. Holding on to some very non-productive folks while others are let go, with sales leads not either paying enough attention to their team, or blinded by some other reality. Completely understand the running fast as a start-up, but doing things half baked at times and blaming it on being a start-up doesn't make you successful. Great marketing group, but needs to be more creative at times rather than just latching on to another competitor and trolling trade shows and LinkedIn. Message hasn't changed in a while.
