Intensely inept leadership

Cons

The executive leadership at Evolve has demonstrated they're ill prepared for navigating a company of this size, and many of the people that got Evolve in a terrible situation have since left (Chief People Officer, Chief Finance Officer, EVP Customer Experience, etc). Sadly, these leaders who refused to listen to logic worshipped at the alter of growth with massive technical debts and conflicting vision, eroding the cash balance over the last year. Efforts to educate about unit economics, poor processes, misguided forecasts and simple operations were ignored, then layoffs ensued. The CEO is a joke who wastes company time cheerleading then talking about how things are harder for him than those impacted by his pure lack of ability or self-awareness.

A Company Culture That Lost Its Way

Pros

Some really good early years. I have gained valuable experience and made some great connections.

Cons

The CEO consistently emphasizes the importance of every new hire contributing their authentic self to influence the company's culture, and this principle holds true. However, regrettably, the infusion of inexperienced and poorly chosen individuals into crucial leadership roles has allowed negative traits to permeate the entire organization, resulting in an exceptionally dismal culture. It's disheartening to witness a company and culture that many dedicated individuals labored tirelessly to build into something exceptional devolve into an environment marked by petty self-preservation, a dearth of ownership, authenticity, and accountability.

Amazing culture and learning opportunities

Pros

Company Culture: This has always been top of my list of important qualities in a company and I can say that Evolve has been able to maintain great culture, even while navigating through changes and company growth. The environment is open, caring, positive, and incredibly fun. Evolve truly cares about each individual person that works here. Additionally, benefits have only continued to improve since I've worked here. Learning (Growth) Opportunities: This is the first company I've worked for where I felt they actually cared about my own growth and development. Not only is there an entire Learning & Development Team devoted to the growth of employees but managers are also provided helpful resources to help stimulate growth and development within each team as well.

Cons

I've been trying for 15 minutes to think of a 'con'. I honestly love working here. I do wish we had more PTO benefits as a company in hospitality/travel. Also would love seeing more diversity at the company in general, especially in leadership roles.
