Great Culture and Peers, Lots of Fluff

Pros

It is an open-minded environment that few people dislike going to work in. I enjoy my coworkers and the product is good. Your voice is heard if you speak out and there is room for growth within the company if you desire.

Cons

The pay is abysmal. It is way less than average for entry-level jobs. I can count on one hand the number of coworkers (not in management positions) who are comfortable enough financially to pay bills every month. Majority of the coworkers are seeking jobs elsewhere, but the market is so tough in Denver that they are stuck. They do not match 401k's and do not offer many perks (no travel perks... which is odd for a travel company). There is a lot of talk without much action. They say something to appease the person making a complaint rather than taking action. A lot of disorganization throughout the company. Multiple paychecks messed up in which the person had to fight to get the money they were supposed to get in the first place.

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. We’re glad to hear you like our product and the culture we’ve created here, and we’d like to address your concerns about pay. Certainly when there’s a problem in payroll we work to get it fixed as quickly as possible, and we know our employees need us to be on the ball there. We’ve put backups in place to keep those issues from happening again, and we’re very sorry if you were affected. As for the pay structure, we’re always upfront about compensation when new employees sign on and we think you’ll find Glassdoor shows our pay to be competitive for the Denver area. That said, we know entry-level compensation can feel underwhelming which is why we’ve worked hard to develop a culture that gives our team members the opportunity to stand out and advance quickly. Working for a high-growth company comes with its share of challenges, but all of our employees can expect that we’ll continue to re-invest in them as we grow and we hope you’ll join us for the ride.

Pros

I genuinely enjoy going to work everyday at Evolve. This company cares about their employees, and also are dedicated to making sure that the values set forth by the founders are upheld on a daily basis. My coworkers are all great people, and I like interacting with everyone. I enjoy the fast pace environment, and the company is growing at a rapid pace. I can make a difference, and my work is recognized.

Cons

Some teams growing faster than others, and we need focus on overall growth, not just certain departments. Some departments feel are left back due to focusing all energies in one area due to this. Minor gripes: Office space is getting tight. Could splurge for some more office supplies (tea, new coffee maker, etc). Parking is tough.

Pros

Learned to survive on $14/hour in Denver. You have to get creative. Gained experience with Salesforce (probably the only useful thing I learned) Lots of free lunches take the place of actual compensation. Thus, I was able to memorize the Jimmy John's menu. I recommend the #12 with bacon.

Cons

Terrible compensation - about $10k/year lower than the competition. If you have a college degree, save yourself a lot of time and just look elsewhere. If you just have a high school diploma, this might be the perfect job for you! Expected to work nights, weekends, and holidays Constant paycheck issues (bonuses and commissions missing) No standards due to constant change Inexperienced and ineffective management - the blind leading the blind
