Toxic Culture Driven by Poor Leadership at the Top (especially the CPO)

Pros

Some legacy team members and ICs remain passionate and capable, but they’re increasingly being driven out or ignored.

Cons

The company is suffering due to the toxic leadership style of the Chief Product Officer. Since his arrival, the product organization has become deeply political, dysfunctional, and fear-driven. Meritocracy has been replaced by favoritism, where decisions are based more on internal alliances than product strategy or user value. There is diminished cross-functional trust, siloed teams, and a culture that discourages dissent or open feedback. Actually discouraged is a mild way to put it. Things have become increasingly toxic in the 1.5 years he has been here.
