My entire department was eliminated on a Monday afternoon, with VP leadership stating a need for outsourcing and cost-cutting measures, the typical "we need to be agile to stay competitive" and "think lean with our spending", the typical corpo speak for "we are cutting positions because AI and we want more money". The very next morning, the company had an earnings call with investors and announced they had their most profitable quarter ever in the company's history. A month later, the company announced it was being bought out by Abbott Laboratories.
