Wonderful Company - Not so Wonderful People

Pros

Company is Amazing Wonderful discount Great product ! Amazing Store design .. Regional manager seemed amazing and understood the stores - Really wish I was able to work for different leaders within this company because the product is amazing and the company has amazing values !

Cons

Store Leadership is not acceptable ! With in five weeks I watched five members from leadership exit the building with in the same four walls _ The stores who do retain their people is because they have built them from the bottom up and they do not know any other work environment. You have Zero work life balance SM expects the Co to work 46-57 hours per week to work on D.O.R. ! Every Request Off I submitted ( A Tuesday for example was denied ) I was so disappointed in the leadership , what a wonderful company with amazing product but the people are ruining it for both the customer & employee.

Pros

The sole pro that I can think of is that this was located in a mall, which made it easy to go shopping after work.

Cons

-Call ins are frequently arranged but never actually carried out. -They don't have enough people there throughout the day maintaining cleanliness so by the end of the day it takes 3-4 hours to close. -They pay minimum wage but expect you to wear their clothes every day (which are pricey, even after the 30% employee discount.) -Inconsistent with hours. You can work 3 hours one week and 16 the next and have no say in it. -No structure or training, just kind of thrown into the fire.

Pros

I like my coworkers, and management is alright.

Cons

Everything else. High turnover has left Acct ops completely disabled and understaffed. There is no sense of urgency to get help, and they are pissed that work is not getting done despite 60-70 hours a week. No bonus, low compensation, all your friends will leave, nothing is ever good enough. There was literally a group called the mean girls club that held a lot of power at Express up until recently. It was a well deserved nickname.
