No incentive for high performers

Pros

The company has good hours and you do not have to work any nights or Sundays at most locations. The job is also not very stressful

Cons

You can have the absolute best sales skills in the world and you will get almost nothing for it. All the incentives are based on rentals and a tiny portion of it is revenue but the numbers are set by corporate and set high so that you never get too much of an already small amount. There is no incentive to the individual to exceed goals or to sell high levels of insurance. Health care is also very expensive, wages are okay at best, and there is zero overtime allowed.

Pros

Decent pay, great coworkers. Job security. As long as you do your job you can guarantee you'll be employed. Some of the upper management is ok.

Cons

It was a great place for a while. But now it has changed. Promotions are no longer based on talent. If you aren't a bully, good luck moving up.

This once WAS a great place to work.....

Pros

The people who still remain from what was once a great company are a definite positive. However, those loyal and dedicated people will continue to exit as this company continues to sacrifice them for the sake of the numbers.

Cons

This was once a company that recognized and rewarded great performance and lived by their values. Unfortunately, it has lost many great employees over the past few years and has transitioned to an organization that promotes based upon who you know and not how you perform. And though they talk about values, they no longer abide by them. When it's not convenient or it doesn't drive numbers, integrity goes out the window. And there are several recently promoted executives who have had a history of not living the values. CEO Spencer Kirk is a great leader and a great man. Unfortunately, I can only speculate that those immediately below him have to be hiding these types of behaviors from him High level director positions are filled on the basis of political expediency, not on the basis of past performance or experience. People are being promoted into high level positions in fields where they have had no previous experience. The chasm between the field and corporate continues to expand as corporate centralization continues to make Salt Lake an exclusive club that closely guards information and meticulously screens those who apply to be a part of that club.
