Better than Most

Pros

Sundays off, schedule can be flexible at times. Good work environment, great teamwork. Live on site, not micromanaged everyday (as long as you are doing your job) opportunities to grow in the company.

Cons

Pay is not that great, difference in pay between assistant manager, store manager, and district team lead is small, so it is not worth it. They say think like an owner but do not pay you like an owner. No overtime allowed. Be prepared to work alone every week, they cut hours to one day of double coverage and expect everything to be done right away. Considered retail so we work most holidays.

Pros

Excellent opportunities to grow. Very easy job overall. Stick to your job checklist and you will have no problems. If you like being by yourself, which I do, it is great! Diversity as a company is great, and welcoming. You work 8 hours a day, unless something crazy happens, that is it. No over working like retail jobs. Major holidays are paid, and Sundays off.

Cons

There is favoritism within your own team, where managers prefer certain assistance, trainers prefer certain managers, and DM with all of the above. Recognizing managers they are good at, but only if you hit all goals. Even if you knock your numbers out of the park from the previous month, you can miss one goal by .1 and you will not get any shout out, ect. Diversity as a district, not so much. You can easily see where there is not in certain groups of managers. Or where people do not get hired by their colorful body art. Though you can express yourself with tattoos if appropriate, you can not with piercings or hair color.

Quick Money, short term gig

Pros

The training for the sales process is fairly simple and since it’s inside sales you don’t ever have to cold call people. Their system is easy to use and has all the relevant tasks you’ll need to tackle throughout the day; you can contact anyone at other stores which is helpful if you have questions, you’ll usually get an immediate response. Physical work is usually light depending on your main store but you will sometimes have to do big maintenance projects by yourself or with your store manager. Customers are generally easy to work with because they already know what they want.

Cons

Atrocious salary and career advancement options, even though you can transfer to any store in the company, usually the only ones available to you will be in your district. There are only 3 role types before District Manager: assistant manager, store manager, and district team lead. Pay between Assistants and Managers is negligible and if you become a DTL you will make only a few dollars more. If you live on site as a manager, they always slash your pay because you’re receiving free housing, but most of the time it goes below what the assistants make.
