There is so much diversity, the environment is very friendly, easy communitcation with higher level management

Cons

Closing at 6pm, extra space storage talks about a good work live balance, but for working parents 6pm is not ideal. Daycares close at 5:45-6:00pm and do not leave wiggle room for that policy. Finding childcare with these hours have been a stuggle my entire career here at Extra Space. I'm positive i'd want to continue my career here indefinitely if not for the hours.

Pros

Prior to Extra Space I was a District Manager with Life Storage. The learning curve has been sharp. Along the way I have gotten support of my peers and coworkers. Extra Space wants you to succeed and it is what you make of it. There is a lot of work involved but the reward of being a part of a worldclass team and company goes along with it. My only wish is that I could have started sooner with the company.

The pay rate is decent.

Cons

The downside to Extra Space to me is the way they make all employees work every Friday, Saturday and Monday. A lot of these stores has a perfect schedule that has been working for them for the longest. It was worked around family time and other things. With the schedule now there is time for family and other things. I myself is a very family orientated person and spends as much time with them as I can. with the new schedule it's not possible to even see them as the have work during the weekdays.
