Fantastic Company With Down To Earth Ideals

My company merged with Extra Space Storage one year ago today! Initially, there was a lot of natural apprehension. We were a smaller regional company and feared we would be lost in the crowd after the merger. My experience has been nearly 100% positive, and one year on, I'm so happy that the joining of our two brands happened. From the CEO, Executives, and Senior Management down to the store managers and call center agents, I felt welcomed, included and respected from day one. The values and principles Extra Space asks its employees to live by every day are simple and down to earth. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, it's refreshing that they support me and the ideals I live by.
Cons
Nothing is perfect, and Extra Space is outstanding at recognizing this and striving to improve. That's the sign of a great company with even more outstanding leadership, not hiding from a problem but addressing it and working to make changes. My only specific "con" is that the company remains large, and you lose a little intimacy of a smaller company. The wheels of change can move a little slower than you'd like.
