Pros
Okay benefits, 401k, holidays and vacation time. Many good hourly employees and ground level mangers/supervisors nice customers as well as vendors despite poor mid/upper level mangers.
Cons
Below average pay., Managers are less than knowledgeable about what hourly employees really do to perform on jobs and think cutting corners is the answer to bad ideas they put in play. Continued cutting of needed maintenance resources causes breakdowns and lost production, poor advice from company engineers is followed and implemented by management despite warnings from highly experienced and very knowledgeable tradesman. Good employees are taken advantage of and poor employees are tolerated, doing good work only brings you more work without reward or upward mobility, that is unless you are someone's buddy then of course you get promoted, qualified or not.
