Pros

I worked here starting Aug. 1st of 2019 and was hired on to be a Social Media Specialist with Graphic Design skills. I worked under Macy and Dario, both supervisors for the marketing, graphic design and social media teams. Dario is a great mentor with tons of patience! I learned a lot about social media practices from him. I got a better understanding of web & newsletter design and more of an understanding communicating with clients. He’s a very skilled and talented designer who could work anywhere if he wanted too. He deserves to run his own department the way he envisions. Macy is very tenacious and sweet. She’s rough around the edges but in all honesty, she’s very kind when you go to her with questions or a problem. She can be an open book but also demonstrate professionalism when needed. I understand she has a tough role at times so I really appreciated her patience and small interactions with me during her busy days. Co-workers: I really enjoyed the company of almost everyone there. It’s like a big family and most everyone is very supportive and look out for you. There are a few that made my time there awkward and uncomfortable, but overall the people there, in my experience, are very genuine people. This company really cares about their clientele, they bend over backwards for them and really pull through on last min client requests. The company also shows care to their employees with small events that they put together at the place. It really makes one feel a part of a family. Although I was there for a short time, leaving was bittersweet. I really value my time and experience there and hope the company keeps business going and appreciate the good people that work there.

Cons

The Fishers: I would say about the brothers who are in charge of that place...to keep family drama out of there. It really doesn’t reflect well on a company to have their family drama displayed for all to see. It doesn’t reflect well hear and read of all the crazy dangerous moments that have happened there because of those two. I won’t disclose what I’ve witnessed, but I did not feel comfortable or safe at a point being there in the presence of the Fisher brothers. Nonetheless, it was none of my business so I did not involve myself in any way. I do feel that this company needs to invest more in the great ideas that come from the Media Team. It has potential to be a great digital marketing agency but unfortunately it didn’t feel like they were invested in putting more money into that department. In terms of pay, I had an agreement with a recruiter for a certain salary that was agreed with the company but was later decreased after I had signed the papers. Nonetheless, I do value experience over pay, so I decided to stick around even though that part did make my start there very uncomfortable.

Pros

Everyone is always willing to help you. There’s a lot of growth opportunities but they aren’t going to be handed to you, you need to be proactive. There’s people who’ve been in the company for many many years and you can learn a lot from them and their experience. Since day one I felt like I was part of the Fisher family. I can honestly say that working for Fisher has been one of the best decisions of my life.

Cons

It’s a fast paced envronment. You have to be ready to grasp onto things quickly and meet deadlines.

Pros

Paid weekly and they never missed a paycheck. Consistent 40 hour work week. Flexible hours (some people arrive at 7:30 am, others at 10 am). My co-workers were great people -- I'll give management that, they know how to hire decent employees, unfortunately they don't appreciate them. You can listen to music while you work.

Cons

The job is ideal for those who know a little InDesign and need the job experience. Stick around for a year so you have something on your resume. Pay was low, definitely not a living wage. No raises or cost of living increases were provided. VERY little opportunity for promotion. Healthcare was all right, but not great. Vacation days were the bare minimum (Four paid days off for holidays, and I think four additional sick days). As I recall, for each paid holiday we received off, we had to make up those hours on a different day within the same week. The work was repetitive and not challenging, and the company did not offer incentives. Management spent their time fighting and having inappropriate conversations in front of their employees. They didn’t wash their hands after using the restroom. Temperature in the office was cold in winter (wear gloves or bring hand warmers) and uncomfortably warm in the summer. Human Resources' response regarding the summer temperature in the office was, “I know it’s hot in here but it’s even hotter outdoors.”
