Pros

Until October/November of this year, I would have listed several pros. But FM has since gone woke & become a completely different place.

Cons

They have implemented a policy of get vaccinated or be terminated. With very little notice, no regard for length of service, & with zero transparency. They used to be a company that cared about their employees. Now, it’s shut up, take the shot, & give a third party your medical info. They have proved to be complete & utter hypocrites whose actions violate their stated values.

Pros

Pension and benefits are overall good.

Cons

We were told earlier this year our role was fully remote. The CEO decided to change this, forcing us back in the office 5 days a week when we have been successfully working remote for over 3 years. Client processing was restructured and the work load is now unmanageable. Numerous people have gone on stress leave because it is so bad. Last year the employee survey had really negative feedback. We had meeting after meeting discussing the results, but nothing has been done to actually fix any of the issues. They encourage nepotism. No work life balance No transparency Low pay Constantly short-staffed

Pros

There are good reasons to work at FM, which are as follows: * Compensation and benefits * Pension plan * Fundamentality strong and unique business model which has produced consistent financial results. * Leading property insurance company in the world * Stable company and stable employement

Cons

Very regimented workplace culture - empowering/encouraging employees to make their own decisions is lacking. Managers encourage client service teams to run to them with the background info so they can make all the key decisions and package them back to the teams for implementation. * Endless meetings involving entire management teams. Meeting attendees are not equal contributors. They are dog and pony shows for managers and favorite priviledged employees to display their egos. The rest of the cast are treated like minions to be seen and not heard. * The priviledged secret society get all the promotions. FM is loaded with AVP's, VP's, and SVP's with silly job titles such as "VP - CST experience and value optimization", "VP-Brand Experience and Engagement", "Manager - Client Service and Broker Engagement", "SVP - Culture and Employee Experience" (with a "Manager" same title reporting to this silly position), "Manager - Strategy and Enablement", All these positions are designed to promote favorite sons and daughters. * The CEO reneged on the hybrid work program, using "team collaboration and knowledge transfer" as silly justification. He is spending millions building new real estate; that's the real reason.
