      Old fashioned ideas. Minorities do not get any promotions. A lot of petty, back biting people.

      Field Engineer job OK, mgrs suck

      My job was field engineer. Enjoyed inspecting plants. Had some free time. Lack of total oversight as an engineer.

      Cons

      But the reports, complaint emails, constant changes made by feckless managers and time crunch significantly detracted from job. Way too many layers management with inflated pompous titles. Promote from within which means engineers become managers. Negative work environment, but I was mostly in field. Promotion based on favoritism. Very important to get yourself a side hustle to make money and grow independent.
