Was great at first, but that quickly changed

Pros

The employee benefits and the immediate people I worked with were great and supportive.

Cons

They have a strict vaccine mandate that they implemented for all employees in a passive aggressive way and insensitively fired and denied accommodations for myself and many others two weeks before the holidays (we got the official mandate communication two days before Thanksgiving, very distastefully done). They didn't bat an eye or make any hesitation to fire otherwise competent and loyal employees who weren't in "compliance". Wokeness is creeping into the company-wide communications more and more each day. It was quite the experience being forbidden to return to the office and reading inclusion, diversity, equity and pronoun emails come through while living with the daily terror of being axed from my job because of my "diverse" opinion on what should go into my own body. They also seem very hesitant to let go of their antiquated ways and let employees enjoy the flexibility and autonomy of working from home even though that's what everyone did successfully for the last 18 months. They have a new policy to work from home 2 days a week for some positions, but remind you incessantly that they want to see you in the office and don't want you to work from home on Mondays or Fridays, etc.

Pros

Respected by members in the same industry

Cons

No culture, senior management is mostly much older and very conservative/ old school. Forced to go in 5 days a week as of Nov 6. CEO does not account for any employees feedback when making decisions.

Pros

Decent health benefits, pension, 401K match, great front-line employees

Cons

No work/life balance, CEO and C-Suite executives, pay lower than comparable industry peers, poor communication, declining morale and culture. Since the new CEO has taken over, this company is declining fast. The executives use all the corporate “buzz” words but it is just a lot of smoke. DEI is a joke, just google and look at the top executives or even the Board of Directors and you will see very little DEI, you have to go several layers into management to get the DEI numbers to make it look like they are supporting DEI. The partnership with the LPGA to sponsor a tournament is ridiculous and another attempt to prove that they are sensitive and supportive of DEI and women in STEM when it is an ego thing for the CEO. Recently there was a RTO mandate of 5 days a week (for many positions but not all), people are unhappy and no longer engaged. Seems like the company is moving backward instead of forward, pretty soon it will be back to formal business attire and no women in the workplace. There is no work/life balance. The company has 2 days per year for “wellness” to make it look like they care about employee wellness. There are employees promoted to management positions that seem to get it because they can drink and rub elbows with the senior leaders rather than because they have experience and will be an effective leader. Employee surveys are taken every few years and then put in a drawer with nothing being done which adds to the declining company morale and disengagement. It is clear that executives do not care, they are going to do what they want to do and if you don’t like it you can leave (their words). To those employees who feel stuck there, please don’t believe the company line of you won’t find anything better out there because you can and will. There is life after FM. Several people have left the company in 2023 due to the decline of the company and have gone on to find great positions in the industry with better work/life balance, better support, better benefits and better culture and several others are opting to retire because they are tired of the ineffective leadership. Let’s be clear this company has managers with an iron fist and personal agendas worried about their legacy not servant leadership that inspires the employees and makes the company better. This used to be a top notch company but it is definitely in need of new leadership. Swipe left on this company if you are considering working here – it is declining fast, there are better companies out there!
