FMC is a good company to work for, it has good staff and great people working for them that are very helpful.

Pros

Of all the companies I've worked for in Houston FMC Technologies is at the top of the list. Expect some reviews to be off putting. They recruit straight from the universities. The kids complain about not being managers fast enough. I came to FMC with 6yrs experience and let me say; the training, the team building, the charity events, the goal oriented views. All of these are gifts which most companies do not offer their employees.

Cons

Lack of product knowledge. We created designs without knowing what the system actually did!

Pros

Progressive company with strong technical orientation. Compensation is average, promotions and benefits are ordinary. One of the few companies with a retirement program. Number one, for several years, in the Oil & Gas Service Industry

Cons

Although Technology is their strength, FMC needs to be more progressive in employee retention. Their core values are excellent, but enforcement of those core values are not always consistent. Leadership, within the company is excellent, but only in certain pockets of the organization. Promotions and advancement opportunities for certain ethnic groups are substandard.
