Pros

Fair wage, good benefits, amenable work environment

Cons

A drop in oil prices makes everyone in the oil industry nervous, and the ripples are felt all the way down to the companies that supply the equipment...like FMC Schilling. 59 people were laid off.

FMC Corporation does not have a location in Davis, CA nor is it the oil industry. This may perhaps be an FMC Technologies review posted to the FMC Corp page in error.

Pros

FMC is a good place to receive training and experience with many different subsea product lines. FMC has a high level of expertise and industry experts available for consultation. FMC is good about allowing one to change job positions in order to build one's experience.

Cons

FMC is very spread apart in Houston which makes it difficult when working with groups outside of your work area if you prefer face to face interaction. Maybe the new campus will help to consolidate the groups in the Houston area.

Pros

Compensation and benefits are good. Great people. Very talented and friendly co-workers.

Cons

Work is monotonous. Very limited to no growth opportunities. Heavy emphasis on overtime which leads to zero work-life balance. A 40-hour work week is frowned upon. Unrealistically tight project schedules (cost and time). Timesheets are analyzed to the minute and quickly get extremely burdensome. Tons of overhead activities which take away significant time from real project work. Annual performance (PDD) reviews are a joke. One doesn't get recognized for going above and beyond job expectations. Management is ruthless with layoffs during industry downturn.
