Pros

The work is very easy. This means there isn't a high bar when it comes for looking qualified applicants for most jobs. Most of FSA's positions are great for someone looking for their first job. There's very high turnover in most of their contracts, so there is usually always positions open.

Cons

The jobs are not very technical, so you likely won't be learning any new skills to bring to other jobs. They hide the policy on vacation and look for every possible way to not pay it out. The specific policy on vacation leave is not in the employee handbook, but instead referenced to a separate document. My boss didn't even understand it correctly and told me I would get vacation leave cashed out for my 9 months working when it turns out you need to have worked for 1 year before getting any leave. Another one of my coworker's was leaving the job because she was deploying with the Army, but FSA wouldn't grant her 3 days of leave without pay so she could hit her 1 year point and earn that vacation leave.

Keep your expectations in check

Pros

Working for the federal government and potentially getting a fed job in the process

Cons

They don't pay much at all. If you get an offer, remember to negotiate because they will try to offer you as little as possible. You won't be getting any raises either so make sure you happy with your salary. Even though they offer the ability to potentially change positions within the company, don't expect that to happen either. If you have a job that requires travel, you will not enjoy the procedure of getting your money reimbursed. The current contract doesn't offer telework so enjoy having to use vacation time when the government closes due to weather.

No promotional opportunities

Pros

None, really. The pros come from the DOJ agency office you are assigned to, not FSA directly.

Cons

NO promotion/pay upgrade opportunities, unless Area Wage Determination (AWD) is adjusted or you are willing to move out of state. Terrible benefit options (very expensive, don't get what you pay for). FSA appears to be very unconcerned with employee satisfaction and retention (FSA in a contract company, they are only concerned with DOJ customers).
