Pros
The lawyers and staff are professional, friendly, and many a genuinely nice. Culture depends on what office you are in. There seems to be a better work-life balance compared to other white shoe firms. Relatively laid-back culture. The firm has a great health care practice and government regulations practice. They pay a lot of attention to training new associates.
Cons
Firm lacks clear direction and is not very good at communicating it's vision. They are not very good at providing ongoing feedback to staff. More political than most places I've worked at. Marketing department is very dysfunctional at the moment and is going through a very challenging period of transition. Firm does not value it's talent or does not seem to recognize good talent when they have it. Generally operates in silos--between offices, within practice groups and even between and within departments. They're trying to be more cohesive but current processes fall short and some people get burned.
