Amazing people: I've never worked at any other company (three Fortune 500 companies and a small startup) with the density of amazing, talented, intelligent and creative people. Every department has great people working in it: development, marketing, sales, customer service, ministry relations, publishing. I'm always impressed by the work done by people in the company. Challenging and interesting work: Development works hard to make sure we stay on the leading edge with our tools and environment. We're solving interesting problems on the desktop, in mobile and on the web. Room to grow: If you take initiative, the growth potential is unlimited. Great employee insurance: The insurance provided is an amazing plan and the company pays 90% of the employee's premium. Unlimited vacation policy: Work out your schedule with your manager/team lead and take vacation. The company doesn't keep track of how many days your out. Employees are trusted not to abuse it. Free beverages: Free coffee, water, soda Accessible and engaged management: Bob (CEO) is always asking for feedback about what he can do better and what the company can do better. Access to training/education: Bob is an avid reader and is interested in seeing his employees grow. Almost every year he sponsors a "Read for Cash" program that allows employees to read business books for pay. It's a great incentive to getting around to reading that book that you've been meaning to. Also, developers can often request technical books whether or not they are related to day to day work. Work in JavaScript but want to learn something about Objective-C? No problem! Cons
401k matching is not as high as other companies, although, in response to feedback to improve the 401k, the company now pays for the 401k administrative fees, rather than those coming out of the employee balances. Heath insurance plan is so comprehensive that it's often cost prohibitive to put an entire family on the plan. Most employees insure their families on the open market, or through another employer if that is an option.
