      A great place if you're a self starter

      Pros

      Working at Faithlife is kind of like working for your parents. They trust in your best intentions and only look over your shoulder enough to make sure that you're not going to seriously screw things up for yourself or them. That autonomy leads to more accountability and more growth. The people here are genuinely smart, hard working and compassionate people. Few, if any, are driven by power or money. Rather, everyone seemingly does the best they can with the resources at their disposal. These are the peers you want!

      Cons

      Organizationally, the company is going through some growing pains. I have seen productivity suffer because everyone is so concentrated on 'shipping' their own projects. This is a little counter-intuitive because one would think, the more things that 'ship', the more things are getting done. However, at times smaller teams lack a common vision and therefore act somewhat disjointedly. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but we do loose some efficiency in the process.

      Pros

      Always looking for cool things to reward employees and boost morale. Leadership consistently seeks feedback and welcomes open communication, is available to talk. Smart, fun people as colleagues for the most part. Work you can believe in. Great location, paid parking, a sense of pulling together toward the same goal.

      Cons

      The company values are great, but not everyone lives them out as others do. So if you are in a department where the manager lets their stress level effect their work, those values are gone. Their word means nothing. A change in job duties can be given and then taken away. A decision that was yours to make can be overridden with little or no reason, and no discussion and then you have to live with it and create workarounds and not complain. Communication is pointless if they are too preoccupied (or uninterested?) to listen. Morale is low when meetings include raised voices, tension, interruptions, and when there is shouting in the office when something isn't up to their expectations. Some departments valued more than others. I'm sure this isn't true for all departments. I see happy people in some departments and worried, exhausted people in others.

      Pros

      I love working here because the opportunities are endless. I feel challenged every day to grow, and make a bigger impact. Naturally curious, and tenacious personalities will thrive here. Faithlife is by far the best employer in Bellingham. Bob, the CEO, is a true visionary. He's unconventional and fearless, while remaining transparent and open. The flexibility in hours and vacation time is also a huge plus. I love that I can set my own schedule, and take vacation days when I need them.

      Cons

      There aren't many. If you don't use Faithlife's products, tools or resources, you may not feel as connected to the company's mission, but the impact Faithlife has on over 2 million people worldwide makes the work incredibly meaningful.
