Pros

It great to work with many other smart people who are passionate about software. There is lots of opportunity for growth and to be challenged. The leadership/management is excellent and they provide a lot of creative freedom. Hours and vacation are flexible. Free coffee.

Cons

Health and retirement benefits are a bit lacking and they tend to pay on the lower end of the spectrum. It is hard to get noticed if you don't promote yourself well.

Pros

I love what I do here. I love the resources we create. The people I work with are wonderful. The atmosphere is casual, with flexible schedules and unlimited vacation time. And every building has its own espresso machine, free for employees to use! What's not to love about this place?

Cons

Work can be pretty high-paced. Be prepared to move desks at least four times every year.

Pros

Exciting projects keep this job fun. I have grown in many areas and polished some talents I had before being hired. Challenges are always present, but that's half of the fun in solving new problems developing the next generation of education.

Cons

Family wage jobs are harder to come by, unless you are a software developer or in sales. Also, sometimes the best ideas are taken by others without any credit or acknowledgment to the originator.
