Pros

Great work environment, lots of highly trained and skilled professionals at all levels of management and field operations, overall highly professional and caring company with a great reputation in the medical community in the Bay Area

Cons

Can be desperate for coverage of some shifts, hires way too many part timers, tends to be cheap when it comes to supplies and maintenance on critical equipment (vehicles mostly), a dollar more than minimum wage for EMTs, some decisions based more on money than on anything else

BLS EMT

Pros

Good people to work with. Good management. Values oriented. Training offered with opportunities to move into other positions like CCT, NICU, ALS positions. Very flexible with part timers. New rigs.

Cons

Low pay but this is standard for BLS. Power gurneys seem to be the newer standard in EMS yet only the CCT units have them.

Registered Nurse

Pros

I think that the environment is very supportive. They offer lots of work and appreciate the nurses.

Cons

Pay. As an experienced nurse for 20 years, I took a pay cut. I feel for me it was worth it because I like the job.
