Pros

A lot of the workforce is young and ambitious, which can make for a wonderful group of peers.

Cons

No one in management has any idea how to run a company. There is no communication, no metrics for growth, no feedback, and often outright dishonesty from the CEO, Lawrence Hester. Under different leadership, FH could be an amazing company. Unfortunately, Lawrence is unfit to run a company (the failure of his previous company should be the first hint), and is borderline-unfit to interact with other human beings. He is dishonest, incompetent, vindictive, and cruel. He is convinced of his own intelligence, despite there being no evidence to support the idea that his intellect is anything above middling. But here's the important part: when negative Glassdoor reviews started coming in, Lawrence made a lot of employees go write positive reviews. Obviously you can't force employees to do something like that, but his reputation for vindictiveness is known throughout the company--and most of the Colorado startup community--and employees feared that he would fire them if they didn't write good reviews to balance out all of the honest ones. Bottom line: the software is excellent, the development team is highly-skilled, but the company is run by a madman, and he will almost certainly run it right into the ground.

We are confident this was written by a competitor of ours. They have posted a few fake Glassdoor reviews in the past (all of which Glassdoor was keen enough to take down). They actually have gone as far as to have engaged in an email campaign to our clients in which they link to this exact review. If you are interviewing with us, I urge you to come in, meet the people, talk with us, and make a decision about our character on your own.

Pros

This was my first job out of college and I have to say I could not have made a better decision. Simply put, I love my job. I roll into work early and leave late every day, not because it's required, but because I want to. First off, our software is by far the best platform that exists in the space. There's no question in my mind that we can help every single tour and activity provider out there grow their business and simplify their life. The office is so full of confidence and energy due in part to the fact that we KNOW we have the best product. Secondly, the vibes here are unreal. I really enjoy working with the people around me which is a big deal for a sales office. It's an incredibly collaborative environment that also provides a very high degree of autonomy if that's what you prefer. If you work hard and produce, you can do it however you'd like and there are always people around to help. The people here really care about each other and therefore will go out of their way to help at anytime, whether that’s a late-night jam session or a weekend demo. I also love working with the clients. We are personally invested in every customer that we talk to. There’s nothing better than getting a call from a client a month or two after signing up to hear them sing FareHarbor’s praise and to thank us for helping their business. This is not a traditional sales job, it’s not even a traditional job. If you want to jump onto a team where you will rock all day every day but have a ton of fun doing it with some really awesome people, then FareHarbor is for you.

Cons

It's a grind sometimes, but again, it's challenge by choice. If you want to work normal hours and do the same thing everyday, then this might not be the place for you. Nobody is going to force you to work more or harder, you have an incredible degree of freedom. Everybody is in it 100%, though, so to match that energy you really do need to commit. Stress can be a little high if you're on a cold streak or having a tough time but that's true of any job.
