Not perfect, but one of my favorite jobs

Pros

Has a small company vibe but has the job/financial security of a bigger company since they have been in business over 100 years. Most coworkers are good people. Few bad apples here just like anywhere, but most are good. Not as formal and annoying as big enterprises or government, where there are policies and procedures for every little thing. Lot of people have been working here for many years, so that shows it is a good place overall.

Cons

Sometimes, people do things their own way instead of what's best for the company. It can be hard to implement change even when it is needed because some people are resistant to change.

Pros

After working here for a number of years, I have seen a lot. I can attest that Farm Journal truly appreciates its employees. The company has a real family feel, yet aggressive chases its business goals and rewards employees who help attain those.

Cons

Tough market right now, but find that in almost any industry - ups and downs of the market.
