Pros

Pays extremely well, nice annual bonuses and a bonus with every relocation. The salary is also much better than I probably could have otherwise done for myself coming right out of college.

Cons

Potentially lots of moving, without much control over the when's or where's of the move. But FAST takes good care of you in terms of a moving bonus and ensuring the whole process is relatively painless.

Pros

Great team environment. Ability to work on challenging and meaningful assignments right away. Support from team leads who are typically great mentors and are willing to help you succeed. Competitive salary and benefits. Fun people to work and play with, and easy and approachable partners.

Cons

Relocation can be challenging, many times you do not know where you will be sent until 2-4 weeks prior to your departure. Long hours, be prepared to work a lot of over time, which, though paid, seems to be the norm.

Fast Enterprises Response

Thank you for your review. We are very grateful to all FASTies for their contribution to FAST’s success. We recognize how integral you all are to the ongoing success of the company. Leaders are often the ones who work not only the smartest, but also the hardest. FAST is the leader in this industry. We hope that FASTies are proud to be part of something special and unique, and that they recognize that their hard work helps keep us on this path. That said, we recognize work/life balance is important to sustaining our success. One way to improve work/life balance is to increase the size of our teams to help meet the growing demand for our products and services. To this end, FAST continues to recruit aggressively. However, we also want to ensure that our methodology, culture and the quality of our work is preserved through our growth. Another way to improve work/life balance is to work with project managers and supervisors to more evenly distribute workloads throughout the project life cycle. FAST has been conducting more “Project Management Sessions” at the headquarters to give managers another forum where they can share ideas and experiences. FAST also recently deployed a management tool, the Project Workbench, to support managers and supervisors in planning and assigning work. We are hopeful that it will further increase efficiency on our projects, and help with work/life balance. With regard to relocation, we recognize it can be challenging. In response to your comment about not knowing where you will be going 2-4 weeks before departure, this should be more the exception than the rule. New hires receive their first assignment about a month before they start so they can be best matched with current client needs. Subsequent moves generally allow more time to prepare. Still, as consultants, we are subject to the actions of our clients. Short turnaround times on relocation are often due to the short notice given to FAST by its clients. To help mitigate some of the challenges of relocation, FAST recently implemented a new employee system to better match client needs/work locations with employee preferences. The system allows employees to electronically communicate their preference in work locations to staffing coordinators. It’s important to understand, however, that while the system makes it easier for us to be aware of employee preferences, as a business we must ensure that we make good on our promises to our clients, make sure their needs are met, and staff their projects accordingly. Thanks again for your feedback!

Pros

Paid overtime, good vacation and paid time off. Paid healthcare. Financially, can't be beat for the work.

Cons

Very little feedback both positive or negative. If they like you, you'll get a good raise. If they don't, you'll be let go with little warning sometimes. Can be very time consuming when busy.
