Pros

Decent promotion opps if you area male. If you are female, forget it.

Cons

Non-family (or life-) friendly place to work due to hours expected/required. Management SAYS they are family friendly, but try to work a regular 45 week - not going to happen. Pay for entry and mid-level professionals is lower than most locally-owned business. Coupled witht the hours expected, make it hard to recommend as a place to work.

Pros

Name recognition. The company is the largest of its kind, but mainly now through acquisition of smaller competitors. Competition is there but very few can match the resources of FEI.

Cons

Leadership is very distrusting of employees. It is difficult if not impossible to get accolades for going beyond job description. The communication between management and emploees is mostly limited to criticism and demand for compliance.
