Like Driving fast in a sports car

Pros

Have you ever driven over 100mph in a sports car, knowing it can handle the speed without the engine blowing or the tires flying off? Figure feels like that. We’re trying a bunch of different stuff but other challenger banks and lenders should be very afraid of what Figure can accomplish. We’re in the rear view mirror and coming up fast. The remote first option has been a life saver in this time of uncertainty and while startups are always going to be risky, everyone seems to be all in and willing to do their most to make the products successful. It’s great to here the CEO talk about the 5 and 10 year plans and the weekly meetings keep us reinvigorated. Seriously Mike, because I know you read these (eventually). Great job here on keeping us all informed.

Cons

Only one Executive person seems grumpy all the time and if you work here or used to work here you know who that is. I keep wanting to send positive vibes to tell the person to cheer up. Everyone knows the person is wicked smart and wish we knew how to make that person have a better day. But maybe there’s some pressures there that its a little bit too much. I don’t know. Anyway, regardless the work can get done despite a little bit of grumpiness. The time off policy is confusing. Unlimited? Not unlimited? How does that work? Little bit too much discussion about maybe recalibrating salaries due to remote work. Maybe level set it for new employees but this shouldn’t be on current employees. It really isn’t a windfall that everyone thinks it is. That’s it. It’s a good company and very interesting. There’s a few hiccups but come in with the right mindset. Adopt a “how can I say yes” to current peers instead of saying no first. Everyone has a job to do and a mission to support.

Pros

Good Pay, decent upward mobility due to company growth, lots of snacks, great desks and computers.

Cons

Leadership unengaged, HR unable to support employees in a meaningful way, does not staff appropriately to volume, "if you don't like it then leave" mentality, employee feedback dismissed, leadership in operations dismissive. Terminations are not communicated to the supervisors of the teams.

Pros

There are more pros than I will be able to list in this review, but include: A dynamic work environment Great benefits and pay, with bonus potential Fully stocked Kitchen Knowledgeable leadership team Open workforce communication Continuous feedback channels, for both individual and company improvement Plenty of friendly faces around the office

Cons

The only "con" of being a Customer Success Associate; this is a VERY demanding role. You cannot get by simply clocking in and out. Figure is devoted to both it's employees and customers, but I would emphasize that they are capable of knowing who is invested in the company and who is there just to collect their pay and go home. There are innumerable benefits to putting effort in, and plenty of recognition to go around. I would not recommend this job to anyone who is not willing to put in effort, and to be an active contributor to Figure.

Figure Response

Thank you for your feedback on recognition as we want everyone at Figure to know how valued and appreciated they are. We are all building this together. We are continuously thinking of ways to recognize our employee contributions from formal CSA of the month programs to everyday shoutouts on our company wide slack channels. We know it’s the big stuff as much as the Thank You’s at the end of the day. We are also building out more career ladders so hard work and high performance is recognized with growth opportunities. Please share any additional ideas with your People Ops team!
