Pros

Management is required to help you sell more, which makes your job more fun. Given many athletes work along with you, sales numbers can get competitive and keep things interesting. Also, the employee discount is nice. For those who do their job correctly and put in a year or two, there are many opportunities to move up to management.

Cons

Unfortunately, the store managers are sometimes the least excited to be there. Assistant managers and managers in training are usually the most helpful and motivated, but both store managers I worked for seemed like they were burned out. Compensation starts low, but there are possibilities of raises after putting in a few good months.

Pros

The atmosphere is one that is a lot of fun. The company has a lot of the promotions and contests. Always lots to learn.

Cons

Unrealistic metrics to measure success. Management can play favorites and be petty sometimes. Scheduling and hours can be shaky.
