Former Employee complaining for Current Employees

Pros

Work from home policy (due to the fact that FADV chose an office that coudn't fit everyone, knowing they wouldn't need as much space) Generous vacation time (result of the LN acquisition)

Cons

I was let go last year, so wasn't in a rush to bash. But I've seen a few reviews from management, stating "change can be challenging" "if you can't adapt". How would one adapt, move to India? US employees are being told they're training their "support" or "backup" in India. So a team member trains their back up, within a month, they're gone, and your manager says "OK, now you need to train you're back up."

It may start out great, but First Advantage will wear you down over time...

Pros

Yes, a lot of their positions allow you to work from home, but the flip side of that is that you will be able to provide little excuse for not working. There is a possibility of career advancement, if you know the right people. There are also some very tenured employees who are extremely dedicated and work very hard. A word of note that the company doesn't necessarily hold a lot of stock in tenure. For the "lifers" at FADV, some may not know any better than to tolerate how the company treats their employees. No, it's not normal for the company to do massive layoffs every year in a lot of other places, but I digress...

Cons

Morale is low, but that's more of a symptom of other issues. There is a lack of focus, a steady stream of new leadership that comes and goes, instability in the technology, and no cohesive vision or strategy. There also seems to be very little accountability, and if things go wrong, often times someone on the client-facing side of the business seems to get thrown under the bus. The private equity firm that bought FADV is more concerned about how the company looks on paper, as expected. The longevity of the company is questionable. Although FADV claims to be the largest global background screening company, have the largest global footprint, etc., bigger is not necessarily better. Other companies have thought they were too big to fail with disastrous outcomes.
