      Pros

      Great place to learn about everything and their values in a resale environment including the worth of jewelry and how to spot fakes

      Cons

      It really USED to be a fun job/career. However, recent changes in the company have made it a miserable place to work. With the focus being emphasized on external customers, the internal customers are being dumped on and demoralized. The bonus structure for management has been chipped away to literally the barest amount possible while trying to disguise it as something new and exciting with boundless rewards. Please. In the end, there are better places to work now that care about their employees. Good luck with keeping your stock holders happy Cash America because THEY are the ones you care about

      Pros

      You just can't beat most of the things you see at a pawn shop. You get to broaden your knowledge on just about any type of resaleable merchandise and will learn a lot about diamonds and precious metals. Not only will you become good at sales but will also learn how the buying of the merchandise works.

      Cons

      The positive work environment that cash america once had is slowly but surely going away. Recently the company started caring more about the numbers and profits and forgot to care as much for the employees that make that money for the company. It a great job for those that are starting fresh on job market but don't expect to get much. yes, the opportunity to rise up the ladder is available but the pay raise that comes with it is something to laugh at and the commissions system for management is an entire different joke on its own.
