Pros

You get a low pay.

Cons

Extremely low increases or no increases at all. Costly benefits HR exists only for management. Incompetent mid-level management. Sweat shop - overworked to death. Backstabbing , first on the layoff list are those not liked by management. People will gang up against you if they dont like you Micromanagement No training, the only training provided is about one's projects. We already know them, please. Highly political, the only way to survive in company is to have a brown nouse, Management will call you into their office for sligthest mistake and embarass you publicly in meetings. Your supervisor is throwing you under the bus any chance he gets to make you leave the company with no benefits paid. Annual layoffs , if not demotions Threats made either by HR or management You need to plan yout PTO 6 months in advance If you take too many sick days ( unplanned PTO) prepare to be let go.

Too Little; Too Late

Pros

Some well-meaning, talented co-workers; smart engineering; entrenched-in-the-industry and here-to-stay company.

Cons

Low salaries; dissolved bonus plan; dissolved 401k discretionary "bonus" plan; 1% annual raises; cut-rate medical insurance; Luddite senior management; scalability-challenged middle management; all-around silo'd, bureaucratic company that puts its money in its engineering (to keep transactions running, to generate revenue for investors/senior management), but doesn't invest in its employees. Nepotistic; protects incompetence as long as the right political cards are displayed.

Pros

Good products and services. Many of my associates are dedicated, hardworking professionals. I really enjoy working with them.

Cons

Expectation are unrealistic and not well thought out. Year over year double digit quota increases while compensation plans drop by double digits percentages. Not a way to motivate people.
