No More Remote Work and a Mass Exit. Run.

Pros

Fiserv was a phenomenal company. They’d learned from previous mistakes and had tremendous growth. Those days are gone. It’s still called Fiserv but under the label and marketing, it’s First Data. Which was going bankrupt for a reason.

Cons

They just announced you either work in or relocate to an office (and 5 days a week), or, take a severance package. Unless you are “work from the road” which is sales. This is all while holding town hall meetings with the entire company, bragging about how we exceeded our financial targets last year and during a pandemic. That we all did while working from home FYI. This hits the original Fiserv employees the most since it was a remote friendly culture. We are losing entire teams of people and all by the end of the year. So, basically the new First Data guys came in and took over our company and gutted it. Fiserv as it was known will no longer exist with the new year. Oh and our stock is tanking. Imagine that.

Mere lip service for staff

Pros

Work from home but the direction is to have consolidated environments by Senior management

Cons

It has pretty much become First Dataserv after merger. Last year when Covid hit, they eliminated 401k match and stock discount as a budget saving measure, at the same time the then CEO was cashing out millions in stock grants. Then they reinstated 401k and discount at a reduced level while giving the CEO 500,000 shares of stock. Then they announce merit raises which haven't kept with inflation as it is will be delayed. So far they have purchased 4 other companies this year. They seem to have a ton of money for acquisition but no money for staff.

Pros

Amazing co-workers and engineers, flexible work arrangements, decent benefits.

Cons

The culture has shifted in a negative direction, no clear communication from leadership, employees left in the dark, layoffs.
