Leadership That Doesn't Lead

Pros

With very few exceptions, those in non-leadership positions are stellar and fun to work with. Ping pong table + foosball complement the beer fridge nicely.

Cons

Leadership (with the exception of ONE individual) obstructs every opportunity they have to grow the company. Strategy and vision are relatively unimportant, which results in a concern that the company won't be able to pivot when Oracle's technology proves to be less and less profitable. Micromanagement and mismanagement are the best ways to describe leadership's approach to leading.

Pros

- The people they hire are generally exceptional. - Get to work with a mix of big and small name clients. - Free coffee and soda in the break room.

Cons

- LOTS of work given out for free because sales undercut estimates order to make the deal happen. - Inconsistent sales pipeline. - Utilization bonus paid out a month after the quarter ends. - Presidents Club trip counts as taxable income despite mandatory attendence at company events while on the trip. - Big focus on recruiting new grads over more seasoned people. - HUGE turnover on the consulting side (There are only 3 consultants that have been with the company 5+ years) - Expect to be doing configuration work a large percentage of the time, not coding new stuff. - When you actually get to code something emphasis is placed on getting it done as quickly as possible rather than getting it done the right way. - No comp time if you have to work outside of core hours for a go live. - Ridiculous over-restrictive non-compete.
