A double-edged sword

Pros

fjorge is a casual organization. Joking around and having fun with your coworkers is refreshingly easy. They're rather flexible with when you work, as long as your work gets done. The dress code, snacks, and beer all contribute to a relaxed, low-pressure, and frequently fun atmosphere. Every once in a while, a really showy and flashy project will come along that everyone can be proud of.

Cons

fjorge is a casual organization. The company is happy to accept solutions which work, instead of pushing to find solutions that work better. Most of the projects you'll work on are low-pressure, but also low-purpose.

We appreciate your feedback. As a development agency, our goal is to deliver the best quality work that meets our client’s needs. Sometimes those needs are a quick fix on a tight timeline, and we’re sure to set clear expectations with our clients when that happens. As we continue to grow we are seeing more flashy projects with opportunities to really dig deep and solutions engineer alongside our clients.

Pros

The company has a set of core values that include growth, curiosity and teamwork. My managers care about me as a person and value a good work-life balance for their employees. That's not to say there aren't times when we have to roll up our sleeves and put in extra hours to get something done for a client but in general we strive to strike a balanced and planned approach to our work. Quarterly check-ins with managers allow an opportunity for frequent feedback. New employees have a mentor to help orient them to the company and when we meet our monthly revenue goals as a team we celebrate it with company outings. We have a diversity and inclusion plan and are looking at ways we can help the tech industry be more inclusive by starting with our own backyard.

Cons

The company has grown significantly in the last several years and this has brought some growing pains as we've transitioned from a small, more organizationally-flat company to a more sophisticated mid-size company. Sometimes the rate of change has been challenging but there are channels for input and feedback so that all employees can help shape the company culture and goals.

Thank you so much for your positive review! We appreciate your hard work and dedication to fjorge and our core values. Nearly tripling in size over the past couple years has caused significant growing pains and we thank you for contributing in a positive way through that transition.

Pros

Challenging projects, team outings when we reach our goals, mentorship opportunities, people who care about personal and business accomplishments

Cons

There have been some growing pains moving from a smaller company to what we have now. Tho any other con i can think of, fjorge has always strived to be better and has a process to find solutions to most issues that arise. So just expect typical company growth, they welcome feedback.
